Cambodia: July 6 – 7, 2015

  • Siem Reap & Angkor Wat
  • Currency: Cambodian Riel – USD is preferred and accepted everywhere, and local currency will usually be given back as change
  • Leaving Bangkok at 6:30AM and crossing the border into Cambodia via Poipet
  • Visiting a small village area and seeing the New Hope Cambodia school
    • the new school location serves 1200 kids
    • provides free education, teaching in hospitality fields, free healthcare, as well as housing for the poor who are unable to work
    • provides monthly food to families in exchange for children attending school (they are often sent to work instead of school)
  • The Noon Night Market – shopping and massages
  • Going to watch the sunrise at Angkor Wat at 4:30AM – everyone was half-asleep (Kim wore her shirt inside out)
  • Baking in the sun to get into the main tower of Angkor Wat (tanning goals)
